Minecraft Server is back up!

A surprise power outage a while ago put the server out of commission for a bit. Just another reason why I seriously need to buy a UPS. Anyhow it's back up and operational.

It would appear that something is up with the server.  I can place blocks but not break them, I can't kill mobs, and mobs can't kill me.  Also I know it's not lag because they are moving around and reacting to environment changes.  Also Zombies catch fire in the sunlight, but not burn up.

Oops. I had been experimenting with some world protection plugins and forgot to remove them. It should be all set now.

I'll be around. I'm doing a lot of work with the network right now. Just got myself a 3COM managed 24 port switch. I'm having fun playing with link aggregation.

I really hate ghasts now.  I'm currently trapped in the Nether, because I was so dumb that I bought a bow with no arrows.  The straightest way for me to get back is to build a bridge 100s of blocks over a giant lava sea, but the ghasts ain't having none of that.  And every time they get close and I run up to get them with a sword, they run away.  If only I had remembered to bring arrows.  Sadface  But I did find a Nether Fortress, so that's good!  that means that as soon as I get back to the real world, I can begin the process of making potions!

I have good news and I have bad news.

Good news first: I finished the bridge, and there is now an easy and quick way from the portal to the Nether fortress.  The bad news is that I managed to get the zombie pigmen mad at me.  Or at least one of them, the others didn't seem to care.  Now he's stolen my armor, sword, and probably some other cool stuff too.  I went back once on the hope that perhaps he wouldn't still be mad at me, but he killed me again, thus dashing all hopes I had of getting my stuff back by myself.

I need to enlist somebody to go above and beyond the call of neighbourliness, and retrieve some of the stuff I dropped.  It was pretty important stuff, and will be needed to get me started enchanting.  It should actually be a very safe mission, because although the pigman is armed with an enchanted diamond sword, he won't be mad at anyone besides me.  For anyone who does this for me, I will make it very much worth your while, as it is well known that I am the wealthiest man in all the land.  

What annoys me is that I don't know what I did to get the pigmen mad at me.  My only guess is that I shot a wild arrow and it somehow managed to hit a pigman way off in the distance. Oh well, as long as I get the stuff back that I dropped, I shouldn't have to go back anytime soon.

Who got my stuff back, that I may reward them? Also, how did you manage to get the sword back? The pigman was holding it, I didn't think you could have gotten it without killing him and peeving off every pigman in the Nether.

Tessa got it back last night! She got the sword back "cus I'm pro" she said lol. She was sniping and stuff. I didnt tell her at first that she had to fight the pigman for stuff so she went with nothing and was like dottieeee and so she died like twice but she made it!

Tessa has my undying gratitude, and respect for her mad skillz. I literally didn't know you could do that.

This was when I died and then the zombie took all my best stuff and wore it.




I was safely chilling with the sheep so a baby zombie wouldnt get me.  I sheared some sheep while I was there then a zombie grabbed some of the wool and tried to lure me out.

That second picture is actually really funny.  The sheep looking at you only makes it funnier too. I feel sorry for you that your render distance is so short though. Oh also Dottie, I really like your snow castle, it looks really cool.

Updates on things:  my castle is now looking pretty good, I'm thinking I'll put one or two more floors on it, and then I'll figure out some sweet spires or a dome to top it off.  Basically I'm getting bored of it, but I don't want to leave it unfinished before I start doing other things.  I think my next big project will be a giant robot, but I'm not positive on that yet, it might be a giant rocket.  But it will be giant, i assure you.

I've been really lucky with enchanting gear so far, I have a sword with sharpness IV and knockback II, which is pretty ok, but my pickaxes are really good.  My one pickaxe has silk touch, unbreaking III, and efficiency IV, and my other one has efficiency IV and fortune III.  So what I do when I run into emerald, diamond, redstone or lapis is I mine it with the one axe to get the actual ore block, and then bring it home , where I use the other axe to get on average more than twice the loot out of it.  It's a pretty sweet system. Also I have come across a large amount of coal ore blocks, so I think I'll make some kind of structure out of that just for kicks.

Lol I didnt even pay attention to the poor sheep looking at me too.  And thanks!  I hope i'll finish decorating it soon cus im getting sick of it like you are with your fortress.

The roofs are the worst part!  I think I'll like seeing another person working on them cus they can look cool but take longer than they should - at least when i make them.  What kind of robot are you thinking of?  Robots vary so much but I can only imagine like a wind-up robot...like the one on nintendogs lol
